120 YEAR COMMEMORATION OF THE SOUTH AFRICAN WAR AND UNVEILING OF THE GENERAL KOOS DE LA REY MEMORIAL
Please join MR ROBERT FORSYTH, Executive Chairman of the Recreation Africa Group, on Saturday 19 October 2019 at Kedar Heritage Lodge for a commemorative conference with eight speakers including an address on The Life of General Koos de la Rey by PROF FRANSJOHAN PRETORIUS Author and Emeritus Professor of History
General Koos de la Rey (1847 – 1914) was one of the greatest military leaders of the South African War. He was a farmer with very little formal education, but his exceptional ability as a military strategist resulted in significant Boer victories at Magersfontein, Silkaatsnek, Nooitgedacht and several other battles.
The event starts at 08h00 and includes a complimentary lunch and afternoon refreshments.
